Widows and Orphans in Uganda

Over the past five years, I have had the privilege of volunteering with the Dorcas Widows Fund.  My roles have changed over the years from fund raising, selling products made by the widows, meeting /speaking to church communities to being a sponsor for a needy child.  My life has been deeply enriched by meeting the widows on a mission trip, reading the stories of the widows, and by watching the widows community being built.   The Dorcas Widows Fund has made a commitment to built 30 homes on land purchased 6 years ago.  Several houses and a community center have been built.  The Fund also employs a Ugandan nurse, children's ministry coordinator, and a social worker. The Dorcas Widows Fund need help raising money to keep the ministry going. If you would like to find out more about the widows and their plight, check out the website at http://www.dorcaswidows.org/
